Falstaff Verlags GmbH has relocated its headquarters to the historic "Haus am Schottentor" in Vienna, Austria, previously the headquarters of the Creditanstalt-Bankverein. The building, originally built between 1909 and 1912 in Vienna's former banking district, underwent a transformation to suit modern office needs after becoming vacant in 2017. The new headquarters occupy the second floor, with office space for approximately 100 employees. The architectural concept emphasizes a clear, linear axial structure with zones for different work functions. Special "points of interest," including the reception area, meeting rooms, tasting area, library, and restrooms, feature accentuated designs to contrast with the work areas' more subdued aesthetic. This creates a clear use of space and at the same time underlines the functionality and aesthetics of the office. The design blends functionality with the brand’s identity, focusing on culinary, travel, and design themes. Notable design elements include white furniture with perforated patterns, rose-colored mirrors, glass office partitions with bordeaux-red frames, and a specially designed carpet. The aesthetic is intended to create a bright, warm, and inspiring work environment. Additionally, a large 8.5m by 2m video wall symbolizes Falstaff’s digital transformation. Artworks by Billie Thanner and Eva Schlegel are strategically placed in key areas, further enriching the office’s atmosphere. Overall, the design emphasizes Falstaff's identity, providing an inspiring workspace that reflects the publishing house’s focus on culinary, travel, and design themes.
