AlmaLusa Baixa/Chiado is a 28-room and suite boutique hotel set in a historic building right in the heart of Lisbon, offering a smart alternative for urban travellers looking for a more contemporary approach to luxury. Ostentatious perks and unnecessary extras are eschewed at AlmaLusa in order to provide accessibly-priced luxury that retains the elements that really matter for guests – stylish décor, character, lux amenities and truly stellar personalized service. Set on the historic “Praça do Município”, where Lisbon’s royal palace once stood and the plans for Portugal’s maritime exploration were born in the 15th Century, AlmaLusa Baixa/Chiado occupies a renovated 18th-century building where Lisbon’s arsenal was housed. It was where weapons and cannons destined for Portuguese explorers’ ships were constructed and stored. AlmaLusa Baixa/Chiado is made for visitors who want to get under the city’s skin and experience Portuguese culture. The Hotel doesn’t just rely on its connections to the past to capture the essence of the city, but partners with exclusive Portuguese brands. From the beds, towels and in-room coffee right down to the Castelbel products, local produce and wines, almost everything here is sourced from the finest Portuguese producers. All 28 rooms, among them 8 suites, have been designed in an individual style and are inspired by the history of the building and the Portuguese aristocratic way of life, but with a contemporary approach. Every room is fully equipped with high-speed Wi-Fi, an HD 42” Led smart TV, heavenly luxury King or Twin beds, REVO Supersignal radios, safes and Delta coffee and tea machines. The bathrooms feature power showers and Castelbel products. For guests wanting to get out and explore Lisbon, AlmaLusa Baixa/Chiado could hardly be better located. Guests staying here will find themselves just a stone’s throw from the Tagus River, a superb spot for a morning jog or a sundown stroll. What’s more, headline attractions such as Castelo de São Jorge and the Sé de Lisboa as well as the atmosphere-laden fado bars of Alfama are just a short walk away.
