This project focuses on the interior design of a residential space located in the bustling metropolitan area. The design approach ingeniously addresses the challenges posed by the pitched roof by incorporating innovative techniques. By lowering the boards and reconfiguring the cabinets, the design not only overcomes the limitations posed by beams and columns but also optimizes the use of unconventional spaces to elevate the functionality of the living area.
Employing a simple yet sophisticated layout, the design promotes a seamless flow of life within the space while also creating a bright and airy living environment. Embracing the unique location of the residence, the project strategically integrates a generous number of external windows, offering stunning panoramic views of the surrounding mountains. Furthermore, a rich variety of natural materials is thoughtfully incorporated to cultivate a serene and inviting atmosphere, enhancing the overall ambiance of the space.
In line with the owner's preferences, the designer artfully merged the clean lines and simplicity of Scandinavian style with the raw, edgy appeal of modern industrial design to craft a home exuding a vintage and elegant ambiance. Throughout the space, a harmonious blend of soft gray tones and natural wood grains provides a soothing backdrop, while accents of Morandi green inject a refreshing touch. Amidst the home's shared spaces, such as the living and dining areas, the high-ceilinged entrance hall and slender TV wall enable seamless light and air circulation, fostering an open and radiant environment.
The stairwell, which serves as a connection between the different levels of the building, is equipped with discreet line lights positioned beneath the treads to guarantee the safety of individuals navigating the stairs. Within the private area located on the second floor, a design strategy has been implemented to mitigate the spatial constraints imposed by the sloped roof. This involves the utilization of a drop panel design, complemented by the installation of a track-type chest of drawers under the sloped ceiling to cater to the storage requirements of the homeowners. The contrasting styles of the two bedrooms are noteworthy.
